Other Wurm Videos
This is where I gather all the other miscellaneous Wurm videos I've done.
Introduction to Wurm Online
This is the video that "started it all" in regards to becoming someone who actively makes content for YouTube. I mean, I'd made a few gaming videos over the years, mostly for my own amusement or to remember cool gaming moments, but I'd never really considered making YouTube videos "for real". One of the reasons being that I felt too shy about my voice.
So what changed all that? Well, around this time I was feeling especially frustrated by the fact that I knew there are a lot of potential Wurm players out there - people like me who love medieval themed sandbox MMOs with a UO flare and I just knew, that if they could only discover Wurm somehow, they would absolutely love it. So I put my insecurities aside and decided to speak up about how great Wurm is. Much to my surprise, this video got lots and lots of attention and views, even though it's merely me sailing around and explaining things about the game instead of actually showing the stuff I'm talking about. Some day though, I will make a remake which fully captures everything that I talk about. It will be a lot of work, but worth it I'm sure!
The Craziest things you can do in Wurm!
This is a video I've wanted to make for a long time: A look a the top 10 craziest things you can do in Wurm!
Moments in Time
Wurm players are very active at sharing screenshots of their adventures in the Wurm forum screenshots thread. I decided to gather some of the best and mash them together in these three videos.
Misty Peaks
When I first started Wurm in 2013, I started on the Celebration server. I then built a boat and sailed to one of the islands on the west side of the map to create my first deed. Soon after that, I sailed for the first time over to other servers and eventually ended up exploring the Independance server. I instantly fell in love with the high majestic mountains and size of the sheer size.
Before you know it, I had shut down my first deed, packed everything onto my boat and had moved to Indy. I sailed the southern shores seeing a lot of abandoned deeds and eventually fell for this spot which still had some horses penned up. Thus, this became my second deed which I called Misty Peaks. Over time, I put a lot of love into this place and it was here that I met Milosanx, who was my neighbor to the east. I think most Wurmians know Milosanx from his famous YouTube videos. Little did I know that he was a big star and all hehe. One of my proudest achievements on this deed was creating a tunnel all the way through the mountain into the steppes hunting grounds. You can see that in the video below. I often wonder if the tunnel has already caved in or whether it's still in use!
I would end up living here here until the Xanadu server opened up after which I moved.
We need animal sounds!
The fact that animals make no sounds (unless you fight or kill them) has bothered the HELL out of me from day one. So I felt compelled to show just how cool and immersive it would be if we had animals make sounds in the game.
Apparently they used to work, and you can see animals actually make the animation, but it was somehow coded in such a lazy way that players complained of animal sound spam and they removed the sounds. Surely they could have made it work in a reasonable way, so that say only X sounds could be heard within a distance of X tiles and only as often as X. The game feels dead enough at it is, and having say cows make a mooing animation but then be completely silent, makes it feel even more desolate.
At the time of making this video, they had just introduced sheep into the game, so they made the perfect mascot!
Using Wurm to recreate famous game environments
When Wurm Unlimited came out, I of course bought it right away and went to experiment with the GM tools. At the time, I was also actively playing Elder Scrolls Online which is a gorgeous gorgeous game, and while playing I always wondered whether those pretty places could somehow be recreated in Wurm. So I took the stable area of Daggerfall and gave it a try. It was so much fun to do and it turned out pretty nicely if I don't say so myself!
Making this small area was so fun, that it later inspired me to start the Ultima Nostalgia project.
